The LBR Educational Support and Scholarship programme was started in 2009 to motivate children and their care-givers in war-affected areas to understand the value of education and re-enrol in school.

The huge ratio of school drop-outs in the North, East and Central provinces has largely reduced through this programme that has currently reached out to over 22,000 beneficiaries in 11 districts. Children and youth have been provided financial assistance, educational materials, special classes, workshop and other activities to empower them. The programme also trains teachers through customised programmes in improved teaching methodologies. These programmes have reduced many school dropouts from war-affected areas to return to school and increased enrollment rates.
